These airlines connect Maputo with a range of international destinations, including Lisbon, Doha, Istanbul, Addis Ababa, Luanda, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and other regional hubs. LAM Mozambique and TAP Air Portugal both operate direct flights to Lisbon, while Qatar Airways offers direct service to Doha. Other carriers, such as Turkish Airlines and TAAG Angola Airlines, provide connections via their respective hubs, often with stopover

Access to Europe and North America is mainly via Johannesburg, although TAP Air Portugal operate direct services from Lisbon to Maputo

• Qatar Airways flies to Maputo via Doha and Johannesburg
• Turkish Airlines via Istanbul and Johannesburg.

From Johannesburg, there are connecting flights to Maputo operated by South African Airways and LAM, while other operators serve Inhambane, Pemba and Vilanculos. 

Regional flights from other African countries to Mozambique are also available from Durban, Cape Town and Mpumalanga in South Africa; Dar es Salaam in Tanzania; Nairobi in Kenya; Harare in Zimbabwe and Addis Ababa. 

LAM's domestic services connect Maputo with the country's major cities and tourist destinations.

There is only one carrier operating inside Mozambique ( LAM)

The airlines currently flying to Beira International Airport (BEW) in Mozambique are:

• LAM Mozambique Airlines

• Ethiopian Airlines

• Airlink (South Africa)

These carriers operate flights connecting Beira to destinations such as Maputo, Johannesburg, and Addis Ababa, among others156. Ethiopian Airlines provides the longest direct international route from Beira to Addis Ababa. Airlink and LAM Mozambique offer regular service between Beira and Johannesburg, as well as domestic connections within Mozambique

As of May 2025, the following airlines are currently flying to Nampula International Airport (APL) in Mozambique:

• LAM Mozambique Airlines: Offers domestic flights from several Mozambican cities (such as Maputo, Beira, Lichinga, Tete) and international flights to Johannesburg169.

• Kenya Airways: Operates direct international flights from Nairobi (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport)169.

• Airlink (South Africa): Provides direct flights from Johannesburg (O. R. Tambo International Airport)169.

These airlines connect Nampula to key domestic and international destinations, with the most frequent routes being from Maputo, Nairobi, and Johannesburg169. There are no low-cost carriers currently listed as serving Nampula directly. The airport handles regular scheduled flights, with about 106 arrivals per month from six cities in three countries1.

As of May 2025, the only airline currently flying to Inhambane Airport (INH) in Mozambique is LAM Mozambique Airlines345.

LAM Mozambique operates both domestic and limited international flights to Inhambane:

• Domestic routes: Direct flights from Maputo and Vilanculos.

• International route: Direct flights from Johannesburg, South Africa.

No other airlines are currently serving Inhambane. Flights are generally scheduled several times a week, with the Johannesburg-Inhambane route being the longest direct service available54.

The airlines currently flying to Vilankulo International Airport (VNX) in Mozambique are:

• LAM Mozambique Airlines

• Airlink (South Africa)

These two carriers operate the majority of flights to and from Vilankulo. LAM Mozambique Airlines provides domestic flights connecting Vilankulo with Maputo and Inhambane, as well as some international connections. Airlink operates direct international flights mainly between Vilankulo and Johannesburg, South Africa, which is the longest route to Vilankulo at about 1 hour and 45 minutes flight time. Other popular routes include flights to Inhambane and Maputo, mostly served by LAM Mozambique146.
